Northern Training Solutions Inc was originally incorporated as TerraLab Training Limited on October 26, 2004. The company was established to deliver a variety of training programs on behalf of the Labrador Metis Nation and to seek additional business opportunities.

The most significant contract to date was received by the Joint Voisey's Bay Employment and Training Authority to deliver two week pre-employment training sessions throughout Labrador and the development of an Inuit-Metis prospecting course.

Efforts continue toward building training capacity.
