Consultant Advisory Services (CAS) Fund
The Metis Business Centre has access to a limited amount of funding that may be utilized by clients to conduct such activities as market research, business planning, and marketing strategies. This funding is available to qualified individuals on the recommendation of the Centre's business development officer and exists to enable perspective or existing entrepreneurs to perform in-depth research and business planning to facilitate the development of a solid plan.
The amount of funding received will depend on the client's employment status. The funding guidelines are outlined below:
Employed Clients
A client that is currently employed but is interested in starting their own business or expanding an existing business will be eligible for funding not exceeding 60% of the total consulting cost to a maximum of $5000 (before taxes). The client will be responsible for the remaining 40% and any amount over $5000.
Unemployed Clients
A client that is currently unemployed or underemployed (working less than 20 hours per week) will be eligible for funding not exceeding 75% of the total consulting cost to a maximum of $5000 (before taxes). The client will be responsible for the remaining 25% of the cost and any amount over $5000.
