- Liaises with suppliers and customers to ensure accounts payable and receivable are current
- Monitors project budgets to ensure the Metis Development Corporation and its subsidiaries are within budget.
- Record minutes of meetings
- Answer telephone/emails

The Metis Development Corporation/Metis Business Centre is pleased to welcome Kerry Brown as the new Business Development Officer.
Kerry is a Metis from Goose Bay, who has a great interest in business and is currently working towards her degree in Business
Administration (Organizational Behaviour and Industrial Relations). She has over 5 years working experience as an office administrator and has held such positions as Coordinator for the Labrador Metis Nation's AGA.
We are pleased to have Kerry as part of our team!

Metis Business of the Month - October 2009

The Grand River Canoe Company is the Metis Business of the Month for October 2009.
The Grand River Canoe Company is owned and operated by entrepreneur Mr. Joe Goudie in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL and offers four models of custom built canoes made of cedar and canvas. Three are paddling canoes and one is built for a motor. Models include: a 15 foot solo model, a 16 foot white-water canoe, a 18 foot recreation paddling canoe, and a 18 foot freighter canoe which can be used with a motor.

MDC Launches New Website

The Metis Development Corporation is please to launch a new, completely redesigned website. The site has been designed by MDC Staff Andy Turnbull and Sterling Penney, with the help of SmartLabrador.
The new site has a focus on highlighting both MDC Subsidiaries as well as Metis entrepreneurs in Labrador. The images used on the site depict the types of products and services that are available from local Metis Entrepreneurs.
Another highlight of our new website is the online Metis Business Directory, which can be found under the Metis Business Centre page. The Metis Business Directory is a list of the Metis Businesses operating in Labrador and we encourage you support our local businesses.
